Knitting – 6 years/crocheting -20 years (not much crocheting now…)/ spinning – 6 years (1 year with my Lendrum)

2. Do you consider yourself a beginner, novice or experienced yarn artist?

I’m definitely an experienced artist…

Various wools, alpaca, llama, silk, cotton (washcloths anyone?), buffalo, medical grade tubing (from insulin pump ), “recycled” plastic grocery bags.

4. What are your favorite yarns?

I don’t particularly have a favorite, although novelty yarns give me a headache (fun fur and the likes)

5. What fibers are you dying to try?

12. How old is your oldest UFO? What is it? Will it ever be finished?

10 years. There are a couple of afghans that I started about the same time and got thrown into a box and forgotten. The baby afghan will probably get frogged or just thrown out, the striped one might get finished if I can get out to the garage and pull it out of the box.

13. What is the most heartbreaking project that you ever frogged?

A cabled pullover that I started to knit for the Husband. I realized about three skeins into the front that I didn’t have enough yarn to finish (it definitely pays to swatch before starting…).

Circulars work best for me, with the exception of DPNs for socks (still want to learn to knit socks on circs though)

I’ve got this really neat Nostepenne (sp?) that was hand turned by Mike at the Calvert Country Market in Prince Frederick

 Love hints, anything to help!

18. What techniques are you still a virgin in (lace, cables, ect.) and are you interested in trying them?

Socks on circs whether it’s two needles or the “magic loop”, and I’m definitely interested. Also, I’m wanting to figure out the Anna Karenina socks (two socks on DPN)

Interweave Knits (do online freebies count? Like Knitty and Anti-Craft?)

Do I have pets??? One cat and three dogs, not to mention the 75 gallon freshwater aquarium in the bedroom.

32. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3’s?

A little bit of everything (not so much rap and R&B) medieval (ie. Qntal, Medieval Babes, Dead Can Dance, Corvus Corax, Blackmore’s Night), 80’s Modern (Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, the Cure), anything off the Dancing Ferret catalogue and the likes (Voltaire, Cruxshadows, Ego Likeness, etc.). 38. Are there any scents, phobias, or sensory thing (ie, the way certain objects feel) that your pal should be aware of?

Strong floral scents make me physically ill. I like lavender in small quantities. Musks also make me ill.

39. What is the most difficult thing that you have ever knit/crochet?

Um…The first sweater I ever made. I just dove in and made a cabled cardi which got felted about a year later when the Husband decided it needed to be washed…WOOL DOES NOT MIX WITH THE WASHING MACHINE unless it‘s superwash…

40. What is your personal style? Is there a time period/fashion movement that you take your cues from?

Um…Modern hippy? Medieval? Otherworld fairy? A little of this, a little of that. Mostly jeans and tees, but I also have corsets, a wool cloak, a sari and a patchwork spinner dress in the closet.

Heck. I used to make most of the stuff I wear. “reality” is subjective.
